Dr. Imani Woody

Dr. Imani Woody is the Founder and President of Mary's House for Older Adults, Inc. She has been an advocate of women, people of color and LGBTQ people for more than 25 years. Her pioneering work has lead to greater advocacy, visibility, and model housing programs for older LGBTQ people across the globe.

Rozanne Look, Esq.

Rozanne Look was the Director of Project Development for the non-profit housing developer Manna, Inc for 29 years. She managed an annual real estate development pipeline of 60-90 units, and has experience in rental, single family, condominium and cooperative development.

Andrea Macko

Andrea Macko is one of the original signatory directors of Mary’s House For Older Adults. She and two other women sat at Dr. Woody’s kitchen table and affirmed the vision of LGBTQ+ housing for older adults in the DC area and beyond. Andrea is a communications specialist by skill and education and a native of Jamaica.

Joi Moorer

Joi Moorer is an exceptional leader in operations efficiency at Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority and AARP Foundation. She has optimized research-based improvement initiatives by making strategic recommendations for solutions in areas of operations, personnel, space, and budgets.

John Henderson is a Community Economic Development Specialist whose areas of expertise are real estate development financing, non-profit management, neighborhood/commercial revitalization, workforce development training, and community/resident engagement.

Elizabeth "Liz" Mabry is committed to a world where all LGBTQ+SGL folks (especially older adults) can live in peace and safety while remaining open and fully self-expressed. She is a transactional attorney who lives in the Port Towns area with her wife and three cats.

Rabbi Erica Steelman

Rabbi Erica Steelman, BCC, MAHL, MPP, brings years of experience working as a full-time chaplain in a skilled nursing community. She has been on the forefront of transforming how providers think about and practice person-centered care while raising awareness about the existence of LGBT+ older adults in general, and in long-term communities specifically.

Rev. Akosua McCray

Rev. Elder Dr. Dyan "Akosua" McCray is the Founding Pastor of Unity Fellowship of Christ Church (UFCDC) in Washington, DC. Rev. Akosua serves as the Board Fundraising Chair. In addition to her pastoral care, and Mary's House For Older Adults work, Rev. Akosua spends countless hours as a hospital Chaplain providing comfort and prayer to those in need.

Kylar Broadus is the Founder of the Trans People of Color Coalition (TPOCC), and became the first transgender person ever to testify before the US Senate when he spoke in support of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) in June 2012. 

Dr. Richard DiCarlo

Dr. DeCarlo is a native Washingtonian who loves beauty!  This love thrust him into the professional arena of Cosmetology.  He has been a member of the National Beauty Culturist League for 53 years and a member on the State and Local levels for 53 years.

Joy Silver

Joy Silver, (MA, RCFE) Silver Senior Living, is an LGBT Aging Issues Consultant. She recently served as Community Operations Director for Merrill Gardens, an Assisted Living and Memory Care Company, headquartered in Seattle, Washington.
